Lights Out, Spotlight On! - Literatuurmuseum

A whole month of theatre at the Literatuurmuseum: performances, masterclasses and workshops during Children's Book Week, from 30 September to 25 October 2026.

The programme is packed. There is 'Sjors en Ruud', an interactive picture book performance based on 'Herrie in de tent' by Harmen van Straaten. Suitable from age 4, on Sunday 4 October at 11:00 and 12:30 (30 minutes). On Saturday 10 October, Theatergroep Zwerm performs 'Help, ik heb de hoofdrol!', a multimedia show about courage and friendship for children aged 6 and up, at 13:00 and 15:00 (40 minutes).

Actress Francesca Pichel leads a theatre masterclass 'Zing zing zing de wereld rond' for children aged 7 and up, on Sunday 18 October and Thursday 22 October at 14:00. The masterclass lasts 90 minutes and ends with a 15-minute performance for parents. During the autumn school holiday, De Verhalendame presents storytelling sessions for ages 2 to 6 and 7 to 13, at various times and without reservation.

Available throughout in the Verhalenlab: the DIY workshop 'Licht uit, spot aan!' (from age 5), where children create their own paper stage set and story. All activities are included with regular museum admission.
