Muk and the Orchestra (4+) — A Symphonic Tale for Young Listeners
A symphonic fairy tale about a brave little Dalmatian — where music comes to life through a live orchestra for children.
In Muk and the Orchestra, you’ll meet Muk, a small but courageous Dalmatian. Accompanied by a 20-piece orchestra and three narrators, children hear how music, sounds and storytelling blend together. From buzzing bees to mountain goats and Muk’s own curious paw-steps — every animal, every sound has its own musical world.
When Muk hears tales of adventures deep underground, his own curiosity awakens. But Muk doesn’t want to go down — he wants to go up. He dreams of reaching the top of the mountain.
Muk and the Orchestra is performed by the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and three storytellers: Mark Haayema, Aniek Stokkers and Dennis de Groot. The music by Thomas Beijer, along with pieces by Beethoven, Debussy and Bruckner, guides you through this magical musical adventure.
A companion picture and audio book — Muk naar de top — was written especially for this production, featuring recorded music played by the orchestra.
