Sometimes the best way to experience a city is from a little distance. At A’dam Lookout, a short elevator ride brings you high above Amsterdam, where canals, rooftops and the river IJ unfold beneath your feet.
For children, it’s a game of spotting familiar places; for parents, it’s a calm moment to take it all in. The space feels open and safe, with subtle information points that help you read the city without overwhelming you.

If you suffer from epilepsy and are sensitive to flashing lights, please note that the standard elevator contains light effects that may trigger an attack. Fortunately, there is an alternative elevator without intense lighting, available with assistance from our staff. Please report to the box office upon arrival, and the team will be happy to help you enjoy A’DAM LOOKOUT safely and comfortably.

Getting there
A’DAM LOOKOUT is the crown on the A’DAM Tower, the iconic building right next to the Eye Film Institute and opposite Amsterdam Central Station. You can reach A’DAM LOOKOUT by taking the free ferry F3 (to Buiksloterweg) from behind the station, followed by a short walk along the IJ waters.
Public Transport
- Take the train, tram or metro to Amsterdam Central Station
- Follow the signs ‘IJ-Zijde’ (IJ-Side), the ferry F3 to the North of Amsterdam is departing from there
- Take the free ferry to F3 ‘Buiksloterweg’, this only takes 2 minutes of your time
- The ferry has a 24/7 schedule
By Foot or bike
- Take to the free ferry F3 to ‘Buiksloterweg’, this only takes 2 minutes of your time
- After arriving at free ferrystop ‘Buiksloterweg’, turn left to the IJ-promenade
- You’ll see the entrance of the LOOKOUT right in front of you
- There’s a lot of space for bikes behind A’DAM next to the EYE Film Museum
By Car
- Use the address ‘Overhoeksplein 1’ in your navigation system
- Take exit S116 towards S118 on the Johan van Hasseltweg
- Go left at the traffic lights towards Mosplein
- Take the third exit on the roundabout to the Hagendoornweg
- Take the fourth exit on the right (just before the church) to the Meidoornweg
- Go left on the Meidoornweg and the first on the right to the Van der Pekbrug
- Follow the temporary signs to the A’DAM Tower which lead you to the parking garage
- You can park 24/7 in our garage (€1,35 per 15 minutes, € 55,- per day. Only maestro and creditcard)

Lockers
Paid lockers are available on the 20th floor. They provide enough space for a jacket and a small bag.
