A special edition celebrating women in science!
Around the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11), the Science Lab transforms into Marie Curie’s Lab. Children will dive into the life and groundbreaking work of this pioneering scientist and recreate some of her most famous experiments, safe, accessible, and full of discovery!
What will we do?
Throughout February, the lab is dedicated entirely to Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize (and the only one to win it twice in different sciences!).
We’ll share her inspiring story: from her childhood in occupied Poland and the secret Flying University in Warsaw, to her revolutionary discoveries in Paris.
Children ages 7 to 14 will get hands-on with fun and safe experiments inspired by her work with radioactive materials.
No dangerous substances, of course, but plenty of wonder, measuring, mixing, and experimenting, just like a real scientist.
