Oosterpark is without doubt one of the best places in the city to visit with children.
Between the old trees and wide paths you will find two playgrounds: one for younger children with sand, swings and slides, and a larger one where older kids can climb, scramble and run endlessly.

On warm days the paddling pool near the Tropenmuseum is the perfect place to cool off. Children splash in the water while parents relax on the grass, watching the cheerful scene.

After playing, you can walk over to the terrace of Hotel Arena, which borders the park. It is ideal for coffee, lunch or a drink while the children keep playing nearby. Further into the park there is plenty more to do.

Wide paths invite you to walk or cycle, the sports field with artificial turf sits next to a tennis court, and there is a basketball court where local kids and students often play a match.

Those who prefer something more active can head to the skate area. In spring and summer, performances in the bandstand and small festivals create a lively atmosphere.
