Working from home with kids? Discover the best childfriendly spots in Amsterdam where your kids can play while you get work done

6 January 2026 by redactie
These kid-friendly places in Amsterdam let children play while you finally tick off your to-do list.

Working from home with kids sounds efficient on paper, but in reality it’s usually a juggling act of open laptops, half-finished drawings and cold brews that aren’t cold anymore. Still, you don’t need to call in the grandparents or save all your deadlines for after bedtime. Luckily,

Amsterdam has a few spots that truly get it — cafés, creative hubs and play cafés where you can actually get things done while the kids paint, build or play nearby. No babysitter? No problem. These are the best work-with-your-kid places in town.

Coffee + Kids

This café gets it. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, Coffee + Kids transforms into a calm haven for parents. While you sip good coffee and focus without interruptions, little ones (ages 1.5 to 4) are cared for by experienced nannies in the room next door.

Think: crafting, building, singing, and (with permission) a visit to the nearby playground.

You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, but bread and toppings are also available on-site. You can book a 3- or 4-hour session, plenty of time to clear your head or get some serious work done.

You’re welcome to join in or sit quietly at a table in the café while your child does their own thing.
